Our final destination on this epic journey was Death Valley National Park. It was so hot when we got out of the car that we could barely breath. We were there in August. They say that when you drive through Death Valley you need take four litres of water per person, make sure you have a full tank of gas and that your car is reliable. As our hippie host told us when giving us directions; "people break down or run out of gas and die miles from their car looking for help." Well worth the "risk" but go prepared.
