Summer 2014 was our first together and we marked it with an epic California road trip.
We started in Las Vegas (because that was the cheapest flight destination we could get), rented a car and made our way to Joshua Tree. There we spent some of the most memorable days of our lives isolated in the Mojave desert.
Next, we made our way to the coast. We started with camping in beautiful Crystal Cove State Park in Laguna Beach, and then drove up Route 1 (California's Pacific Coast Highway) all the way to breathtaking Big Sur. We discovered amazing destinations along the way.
After three weeks we cut back inland, stayed on a ranch and drove through Death Valley to return to Las Vegas for our flight home.
We loved the beaches and adored desert life. But one of our favorite ventures was exploring groovy ghost towns such as Bombay Beach, Niland (home to Salvation Mountain) and Trona, where, sad to say, every person we saw looked like a Meth addict.
Here's our photo diary with all the details.
