The road from Las Vegas to Joshua Tree is just surreal! About 4 hours of complete awe.
When we pulled over for gas, we discovered an abandoned junk yard and motel right next to the station. The desert is filled with hidden treasures.
Yes, we had to have a photo shoot in the junk yard.
Luxury cars burn, too.
Straight out of Breaking Bad.
Click here to book our Airbnb place. We sent our friends and they loved it! An incredibly inspiring pool house in Yucca Valley, about 15 minutes from Joshua Tree National Park and its rad little town.
We really loved the pool, because in August, in the desert, IT'S HOT.
We did a lot of this.
Joshua Tree National Park at sunset.
What an incredible place to take pictures. It was our favorite thing to do.
The sky turned a beautiful shade of blue and purple at sunset in the park.
The rocks were massive, high and shaped like marshmallows, but so easy to climb. Joshua Tree National Park is known for its rock climbing and there are much higher and more difficult peaks.
You can almost always spot the moon, even in daylight.
More rock climbing...
We took a hike at around noon in Joshua Tree National Park and were OK with lots of water. Surprisingly, it wasn't as hot in the Mojave Desert. In Death Valley however, we felt we couldn't breathe when standing still.
A hidden gem about 20 mins from Joshua Tree: Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown. Amazing vibe, food, live music & dancing. One of the highlights of our trip, if you're there, GO.
In 1946, Pioneertown was founded by a group of Hollywood investors who wanted to create a living movie set — an 1870's frontier town. Through the 40s and 50s several films and shows were filmed here. Today people live in the old Western town.
Continuing our favourite activity. Nature offers you a crazy show in Joshua Tree National Park.
Daytime photography is amazing as well...
After watching the sunset every night, we woke up to see the sun rise on our last day. Well worth the very early morning wake-up call.
Everywhere you turn is a perfect view - - like this one in the desert.
The sun's going down...still just as beautiful.
Look at those hues of pink, purple and blue...
Our time in Joshua Tree summed up in a few words; great home, pool and grill. Photography in Joshua Natural Park and experiencing everything nature has to offer. With good food, music and dancing at Pappy & Harriet's.
